I am interested in the line between truth and fiction. In each of these found photographs I have tried to create a new history, or a new way of looking at a face or a gesture from another time. I look for facial expressions, spatial relationships, objects, or scenes that seem to contain some hidden detail as a distinctive starting point or as a link to another understanding or a new idea. I am curious about how the illusion of photographic space can be re-constructed. These pictures are evidence of my continued interest in how the past meets the present and the present re-interprets the past. |
